Preschool Programs

Two Year Old Classes

The curriculum we use for our 2 year old classes is Pinnacle. This curriculum is designed for guiding the young child in exploring their world through hands on experiences. They will also be introduced to colors, shapes, numbers and the alphabet.

Pre-K 3 Classes

The Pinnacle is used for our Pre-K 3 classes. This curriculum is designed for guiding the young child in exploring their world through hands on experiences. It also includes varied activities and experiences that cover fine motor skill development, math skills, problem solving, recall, listening skills, social development, information about the world around them (colors, animals, roles, community, etc.) and emotional development.

PreK Class

In our 4 year old PreK class, the curriculum we use Learning Without Tears. It is a flexible, play-based curriculum that offers a full pre-writing program and materials that build critical skills like early math and literacy. It indicates three programs designed to prepare children for school: Readiness and Writing, Language and Literacy, and Numbers and Math. The curriculum explicit, modeled instruction with hands-on, multi-sensory materials and active teaching strategies have delivered improved results in Pre-K classrooms.

UMCLC Pre-K curriculum is aligned with the Louisiana Department of Education early childhood academic standards. In addition to our Pre-K curriculum, we will have lessons in Science through our STEM lab and social/emotional program. The center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) is focused on promoting the Social Emotional development and school readiness of your children.

We also have Chapel, Bible and  Computer Enrichment Classes.
